With having waved goodbye to Christmas and all the festive happenings, I am still reveling in some of the beautiful things that the season has brought me. It is traditional for bloggers to share some of their favourite
new things or do the 'Haul post', so here are a few of the very pretty additions that are inspiring me.
Merry Christmas to all you special people,
I hope you all have a wonderful festive time with your loved ones.
Thank you for all your support this last year, it means so much to me and has made this year an even greater one.
Love from both of us at The Angelheaded Hipster.
I have a confession.... I have been listening to Taylor Swift's new album Red over and over again. In particular the title track, Red is my favourite song. It also proved inspiration for these series of pictures taken on Sunday afternoon when I was feeling particularly inspired by my I love Leroy check dress, worn as a shirt, paired with my favourite MAC Lipstick in Red Satin and pearl necklace from H&M.
My favourite ring made from sterling silver with a coloured resin heart by starbright girl which you can order online from Room Online

My trend for the week is this necklace, coined the 'Bubble necklace' and made popular by American clothing company J-Crew. My necklace however, is from Mr Price and definitely does not come with the $150 price tag that the J-Crew one comes with. Copies of the original statement necklace have definitely trending overseas with the bubble necklace appearing in a variety of bright colours and appear to have now finally made their way to South Africa.
The bubble necklace is known as the new string of pearls with the necklace being worn casually with jeans and a t-shirt for an extra pop of colour, or dressed up with a pretty cocktail dress. Its huge jewels, eye catching colors and unforgettable clank as it moves make it a classic statement piece. I used my necklace to add another dimension to an otherwise standard outfit of pale pink skinny jeans and a navy and white striped t-shirt and to tie it all together in a more unusual way and I just love the unique look.
Will you be embracing the bubble necklace trend?
Thanks to a series of happy incidences a pair of the beloved Melody Fullrim glasses from Silhouette made their way to my door this week. I first saw these beauties back in Paris (read about them here) and have been in love ever since. So it is with great delight that I get to wear them this Summer and channel a little bit of the 1950's through the white frames and shape. My late grandmother, who was ever so stylish, favoured Silhouette sunglasses for their lightness and timelessness as well. So when I wear these glasses I think of her which is lovely.
And such a sophisticated pair of sunglasses requires an equally sophisticated scent and what better than Chanel No.5? I've really grown into this perfume with its complex blend of florals like rose and jasmine with a woody base of amber and vanilla amongst others. Do you know that with this perfume, Chanel asked for it to smell just like a woman?
And of course, the box was too tempting for the Kerouac cat not to play with it...
Do you have any signature scents that you are loyal to?
This weekend the whole of Joburg was a buzz with news of the opening of Collective, a pop up market happening once a month at the beautiful rooftop in Kramerville, Sandton. Collective is described as being a collaboration between a range of local design, designers, jewelry, vintage collections, ceramics, fabric, furniture, imported clothing, accessories, decor and all-round beautiful products. I love the idea of a sophisticated market where I can peruse the latest collections from designers, catch up with friends and enjoy an awesome vibe all while looking out over Joburg.
Here are a few pictures of the stalls that I loved, shot with new 50mm lens.
Love you long time clothing
(I die for these!)
