Close your eyes and tap your heels together three times

Hello there,

Welcome to the first fashion related post of 2013 on my blog! 

I couldn't resist the opportunity to revel my inner Dorothy Gale (think The Wizard of Oz) and show off my own pair of ruby red slippers. But instead of Glinda, the Good Witch of the North giving me them, a very generous friend of my mother's thought I deserved them. I should just mention that these little red jobs just happen to be Louis Vuitton kitten heels from three seasons ago. What a wonderful gift!!! And even without the label, I just love these little heels with their homage to Minnie Mouse and all things whimsical and girly. I could just tap my heels together with glee every time I wear them! 

I chose to play up the ruby red shoes with the contrasting navy skirt to add a bit of sailor flair and added a dash of polka dot to the mix with this treasured pure silk Laura Ashley scarf from the Englishman's grandmother. Polka dots in my language equal a solid seal of approval - a score on all fronts for me!  

Finished off with bright red lipstick and winged eyeliner for a 1950's sailor look to complement my very special shoes that I have to pinch myself that I own. I know to many fashion bloggers owning a pair of Louis Vuitton shoes is totally normal, but to this fledgling fashionista, they are truly special even with having been previously owned loved. Even more so, they serve as a reminder of where I want to go with my love of fashion.
